Movie Review: X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Despite a deep love and affection for the source material, the characters, the filmmakers and the franchise, I could not overcome the bloated film I was presented with, which despite preserving some key elements that constantly make these stories emotionally powerful, can't come together in making any kind of organic film, which messes up one of the most fascinating characters in comic book history.

Trailer Review: X-MEN: APOCALYPSE - Final Trailer

I don't know about you, but my excitement for this movie just went from about a 4/10 to a 10/10. The first few promotional images of Apocalypse filled us with some doubt, including everything ranging from how Bryan Singer will handle the storyline, to Apocalypse's character design. Despite the fact that I loved, loved, LOVED the last two X-Men movies, I haven't been able to get psyched for this like I have the other upcoming superhero films of 2016. In fact I don't even think I watched the first trailer. All of that changed when this beast of a trailer surprisingly dropped this morning.
