Welcome to another installment of SIDE BY SIDE, where we dissect the differences and similarities between two films, be it a remake/reboot with its original, a sequel with its original, or two similar movies. This week we will be comparing two 2017 holiday sequels, A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS and DADDY'S HOME 2.  Enjoy!

Last November was the season for Christmas-themed comedy sequels as both Bad Moms and Daddy’s Home managed to garner follow ups in a similar vein to one another.  Tell me what movie I’m describing:  Our main characters are getting ready for a joyous Christmas with their families, when – surprise, surprise – their parents decide to show up and throw everything into an upheaval.

Welcome to another installment of SIDE BY SIDE, where we dissect the differences and similarities between two films, be it a remake/reboot with its original, a sequel with its original or two similar movies. This week I'll be comparing FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and FIFTY SHADES DARKER.

At the end of Fifty Shades of Grey, I yearned for more. Questions left answered would hopefully be answered by the next film in the trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker. And after watching the sequel, all my questions were answered and so much more.

Side By Side: OUIJA vs. OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL

Welcome to another installment of SIDE BY SIDE, where we dissect the differences and similarities between two films, be it a remake/reboot with its original, a sequel with its original, or two similar movies. This week we will be comparing the lackluster horror film, OUIJA, with its much superior prequel, OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL.  Enjoy!

For a very long time, horror has been my genre of choice, and I'll be honest, I can be a sucker at times for some pretty bad horror flicks.  But even I have limits.  Films like Devil's Due, Annabelle, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark (2010), Cursed, and the first Ouija film, all surpassed that limit.  These are horror films where I just couldn't overlook the bad, which prevented me from experiencing any real enjoyment while watching them.

Side By Side: DEATH RACE 2000 vs. DEATH RACE 2050

Welcome to another installment of SIDE BY SIDE, where we dissect the differences and similarities between two films, be it a remake/reboot with its original, a sequel with its original, or two similar movies. This week we compare the 1975 cult classic DEATH RACE 2000 with it's 2017 reboot, DEATH RACE 2050.

Howdy fellow film freaks, Robert here. Death Race 2000 is the movie most people think of first when they hear the name of Roger Corman, this film's producer and the godfather of low budget popcorn flicks. Boasting plenty of over the top vehicular homicide (IMDB puts the official body count at 33), a little bit of skin and a healthy dose of commentary on government, the media, and the acceptance of violence as entertainment, Death Race 2000 is possibly the most famous project in Corman's catalog.
