Movie Review: REIGN OF THE SUPERMEN (2019)
Just over 26 years ago, a comic book event took place that shook the industry, and its readers, to their core. That event was the infamous “Death of Superman”. This story was so big, so powerful, that it made headlines in newspapers all across the world. It changed comics forever. Then, in 2007, DC launched their animated film line with an adaptation of this story, called Superman/Doomsday. Now, while this was a decent adaptation for the time, it was severely lacking in many ways. This was a story far too broad to be contained within the film’s 77 minute runtime, and it took over a decade before DC was willing to take another crack at it, and I’m so glad they did.

Movie Review: AQUAMAN (2018)
Once home to the most advanced civilization on Earth, the city of Atlantis is now an underwater kingdom ruled by the power-hungry King Orm. With a vast army at his disposal, Orm plans to conquer the remaining oceanic people -- and then the surface world. Standing in his way is Aquaman, Orm's half-human, half-Atlantean brother and true heir to the throne. With help from royal counselor Vulko and Princess Mera, Aquaman must retrieve the legendary Trident of Atlan and embrace his destiny as protector of the deep.

Movie Review: BATMAN NINJA (2018)
DC’s animated film line is one that I almost always look forward to seeing what is released next. They have been able to adapt some of my favorite storylines from the comics, bringing them to life in a way I never thought would happen. So, when I heard that they were gearing up to release a new, original film inspired by the world of anime, I was definitely intrigued. Now, what you need to realize is that I’m not a huge anime fan. I’ve seen a few of the older anime films, like Akira, Project A-ko, Vampire Hunter D, etc., but never really got into it as a genre. However, once I saw the trailer for Batman Ninja, I was sold. It looked amazing, from the intricate details to the fantastically unique character designs, and the story seemed interesting. So, once I got my copy, I was ready to give this baby a whirl.

Movie Review: JUSTICE LEAGUE
The moment many DC Comics fans have been waiting for is
finally here. Zack Snyder’s vision for a DC Cinematic Universe began back in 2013 with Man of Steel, which, due to a less than
optimistic Superman and a very controversial ending, led to mixed reactions
from fans and critics alike.

Movie Review: WONDER WOMAN
Hello, film fans!! I had the absolute pleasure of watching Wonder Woman over its opening weekend, which was one of the most anticipated films of this year. It made an impressive $103.2 million at the domestic box office over the weekend and set a new record for a movie directed by a woman, the wonderful Patty Jenkins.

EDITORIAL: Could the DCEU Turn the Corner in 2017 (and What I’ve Learned About Producers)
Hello Readers! A new year has arrived and there is so much
to be excited for! This year promises some great independent films, some great
films by well-established directors, and boasts an incredibly promising (and
packed!) blockbuster schedule. One thing that left many, but certainly not all,
with questions from the blockbuster disappointments of 2016 was “where is the
DC Extended Universe going to go from here?” I was definitely one of those
people with that question. This editorial is going to take a look forward at
the schedule DC has for 2017 and how it might turn the corner in 2017 and
beyond.

Movie Review: SUICIDE SQUAD
I had the opportunity to see an advanced screening of this highly anticipated movie about a group of iconic DC Comics villains played by an impressive array of big name talent. They are touted as the most dangerous supervillains in the world and all are being held in a super-maximum prison. That is until one, high up the food chain government official named Amanda Waller gets the bright idea to assemble them into a team to fight against supervillains even more dangerous than this ‘Suicide Squad’ is. The team, is of course kept in check by explosive devices that have been implanted in their necks and can be remotely detonated. The team leader is a tough as nails military guy named Rick Flagg.
