TV Review: SHERLOCK - Season 4

Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John Watson are back for another season of this amazing series that has updated one of the greatest pop culture icons with a modern, present day take that has left fans of this character, like me, overwhelmed with glee thanks to an intelligent style that has managed to make the best out of the two worlds and bring life to a new world full of mischief and mystery.

Movie Review: DOCTOR STRANGE (Review #3)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been ruthlessly and ferociously expanding for quite sometime. Looking back at the early films that hide within the universe, we see a group of filmmakers desperately trying to grasp a unique look at film form and utilize this to create box office shattering blockbusters. But something has been happening recently that takes a much more interesting and enjoyable turn. Instead of grabbing big time directors for these big time films, they have sought out indie directors with a clearly established visual style and thrust a character or storyline upon them. This seems to be working seamlessly, receiving not only incredible revenue from the theatres but also a well received response from the critics. One of the best examples of this "risk-taking" style of filmmaking working at its absolute best is with Scott Derrickson's Doctor Strange!

Movie Review: DOCTOR STRANGE (Review #2)

Doctor Strange is the fourteenth feature film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this time following the Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Stephen Strange. This film is directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. The basic premise of the film is that we meet Stephen Strange, a talented neurosurgeon, who loses his ability to be a surgeon after his hands are crushed in a car accident and he ventures to Kathmandu where he discovers a world of magic, sorcery, and multiple dimensions. I thought that this film was quite strong, enjoyable, and interesting but not perfect.

Movie Review: DOCTOR STRANGE

Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is one of the most successful neurosurgeons in the world, he care a lot about his job, but he is also an arrogant individual, with an enormous ego. When an almost fatal car accident deprives him of the use of his hands, Strange, left with no other opportunities, embarks on a journey to Asia to find out about one mysterious method a man told him about with which he regained the use of his back after a paralysis, yet there might be more to what he initially set out to do.
