This was a pretty good first trailer, giving fans everything they need. First off, it established the tone of the film. It included a lot of humor, but didn't leave out the serious parts or the action. It managed to meld them all in a great way. We were introduced to all four of the main characters, and were given a sense of why they belong in this group. I'm sure future trailers will give more insight into them as well as introducing other characters like Chris Hemsworth (who is in this trailer briefly), and hopefully more of Slimer (which was a great surprise to see).
The trailer also gave us an idea of what the plot would be. It seems someone has created a device that amplifies paranormal activity, causing ghosts to run amuck all across the city, and the Ghostbusters are the only ones who may be able to stop it. They also introduced the idea of human possession, which I'm interested to see how much they actually utilize it.
We also got some nice shots of things important to a Ghostbusters film, such as Ecto 1 (now a hearse), classic proton blasters (and what looked like handheld ones), the Ghostbusters HQ, green slime, a new version of the ghost trap, and as I said earlier, the Ghostbusters spectral sidekick, Slimer.
Overall, I think this was a nice first trailer, and it's gotten me excited for the film.
