Welcome back to another installment of SHORT FILM SPOTLIGHT.  This week, we take a look at the amazing post-apocalyptic sci-fi film...STATE ZERO.

State Zero is one of the most well-done, visually beautiful short films I've ever seen.  It has a compelling story, stunning visuals, great music, and kept my attention the entire time.

The film takes place in the ruins of Stockholm, Sweden, where a group of soldiers are sent to investigate an old surveillance tower that that goes offline.  Things quickly turn south as creatures begin to overtake the group, picking them off one-by-one.  However, things aren't quite what they seem as something much more sinister is afoot.

This is Andrée Wallin's first time writing and directing a film, and he did a great job.  Wallin is best known for his pre-vis and concept art work on films such as Godzilla (2011), Oblivion, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  You can check out a lot of his concept art for Star Wars and more on his TWITTER page.

I was amazed by how good this film was.  It contained elements of I Am Legend with the post-apocalyptic scenery and even the creatures, and was definitely influenced by Oblivion.  As I said before, it had some great visuals, and by the end of the film I was craving more of this story and this world, and luckily, more is coming.  The when, however, is yet to be known.

I would highly recommend checking out this film if you haven't already, and be sure to share it with your friends.
