Movie Review: PET SEMATARY (2019)


Throughout my years as a movie lover, there’s been one genre that has always grabbed my interest, and that genre is horror.  I’ve been a horror fan ever since I can remember, from watching classics like Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween, to more modern day horror like Paranormal Activity and The Conjuring, and even sci-fi driven horror like Jurassic Park and Alien.  It’s the one genre where I’ll give just about anything a try, including remakes.

Movie Review: IT (2017)



On Tuesday, September 5th I was invited to a press screening of the theatrical remake of Stephen King's iconic horror movie, IT, directed by Andy Muschietti. Before the movie began, there was a short video preface by King himself saying how he is really pleased with how this movie turned out. I think he and I will have to part ways on this sentiment in some areas regarding IT.

Welcome to a new segment here at Merc With a Movie Blog called DIRECTORIAL DEBUTS, where we look at some of the best, most interesting and iconic directors and the films that started their careers. First up to the plate is what I consider to be the ultimate debut, Frank Darabont's masterpiece, THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.
