Trailer Review: LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS (Teaser #2)

After the release of a short teaser featuring Patrick Warburton as the eponymous Lemony Snicket, Netflix has released the first real look at the upcoming series based on the best-selling book series, A Series of Unfortunate Events. The series was previously adapted by Paramount and Nickelodeon Films with Jim Carrey playing the villain of the tale, Count Olaf, in a film that I, as a fan of the books, actually did quite enjoy despite the story not being quite as faithfully adapted as I would've hoped. Despite that, Carrey was quite electric in the role, and the film did quite accurately capture the Gothic atmosphere and dark humor of the series. With the film failing to spawn a franchise, now it's Netflix's turn at bat with Neil Patrick Harris stepping into the Count Olaf role, and with series author, Daniel Handler penning the scripts. You can watch the trailer, giving us our first look at the cast of the show, below.
