SUMMER FILM CHALLENGE 2017 - Week 13 Update

Welcome to Week 13 of Merc With A Movie Blog's SUMMER FILM CHALLENGE!!!  This week we saw the release of two new films, The Emoji Movie and Atomic Blonde.  For an animated film, The Emoji Movie failed to make a mark, bringing in less than $25 million, and only hitting second place.  Atomic Blonde, while making less than The Emoji Movie, made a decent amount hitting over $18 million, which is pretty solid for a film that only cost $30 million to make.

We saw the point standings grew ever closer this week.  Geeks + Gamers Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Youngblood currently holds the lead with 59 points, as G+G's Editor-of-Film Ryan McKenna, and The Merc himself, Joshua Raynor, are tied with 56 points each.  With most of the big films out of the way, it's all about which ones have the staying power throughout the remainder of the Summer.
