Trailer Review: BAYWATCH (Super Bowl TV Spot)

Howdy fellow film freaks, Robert here. Among the many upcoming movies that got teased during the Super Bowl, the Baywatch reboot has finally come out of the water. I was no fan of the original TV series, but if the Rock is in it, I'm there. Check out the trailer below.

Another 30-second brief teaser, but still funny. I don't mind saying that "freedom" gag made me laugh hard.

As I said before, I've enjoyed most of Dwayne Johnson's work so far (though I could have lived without Snitch), and seeing that he's in this movie is enough to win me over right there. Other than that, there's not a lot to take away from this teaser spot: it's got the Rock, there are women in swimsuits for all you troglodytes, and there will be action aplenty. And they'll probably work in a reference to the old theme song for good measure. The line forms to the left.

A fun fact I learned from IMDB, though: the screenplay was written by two guys named Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers behind my favorite guilty-pleasure horror movie, 2003's Freddy vs. Jason. Right now that's the second most attractive thing I know about this movie, and I'm likely going to check it out on sheer curiosity, if nothing else.

Those swimsuits, though :)
