'Alien: Covenant' Prologue, Titled "Last Supper", Officially Released

The people behind the upcoming Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel, Alien: Covenant, have officially released a 5-minute prologue for the film, titled "Last Supper".  In this prologue, we see the crew of the Covenant having a good time before the inevitable events that will occur in the forthcoming film.

Check it out below:

As you can see, Michael Fassbender's David is back and fully intact after the events of Prometheus.  We also see Danny McBride, Katherine Waterston, and even James Franco, who apparently plays the captain of the Covenant. I had no idea that Franco was part of this crew, so this was a nice surprise for me.

This short prologue does a good job of setting the tone of the film, which from this and the trailer, seems to be a nice mixture of both Alien and Aliens, but we won't know for sure until we see the film this May.  I, for one, am super excited for Alien: Covenant, and have had it on my Top 10 Most Anticipated lost for 2017 ever since I first heard about it.  I love the first two Alien films and Prometheus, and even enjoyed Alien 3.  It looks like Ridley Scott will be returning to form in this latest installment of the epic sci-fi/horror franchise.

Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19, 2017.

And in case you missed it, here's the trailer for Alien: Covenant
