Welcome back to another installment of SHORT FILM SPOTLIGHT. This week, we take a look at the amazing short romantic comedy...ONE-MINUTE TIME MACHINE.
One-Minute Time Machine tells the story of James, a man who uses his "one-minute time machine" over and over in an attempt to woo the beautiful Regina, who he meets on a park bench, but little does he know of the consequences of using this machine.
This is, by far, one of the best short films I have watched yet. Within its 5-minute run-time, this film tells a great story with heart and humor, something a lot of 30-minute short films can't even manage to do. I loved everything about this film, including the actors, the music, the pacing. The only thing I would have liked to see different was the run-time, because I wanted more. In the short 5-minutes, I had such a good time with these characters that I just didn't want them to go.
That's one of the things I enjoyed the most about this film...the actors. James is played by Brian Dietzen, who you may recognize as Jimmy Palmer on NCIS. He was great in this film, and his interactions with Regina were perfect. Speaking of Regina, she is played by the beautiful Erinn Hayes, better known as Dr. Lola Spratt on Childrens Hospital. The chemistry between these two was so great, I would've loved to have seen more.
The film was directed by Devon Avery, who previously directed the short film Practice Makes Perfect, and has directed and written the upcoming feature film Synced, set to hit theaters this June. Alongside Devon, in the writer's chair, was Sean Crouch. Sean has writing credits on such shows as Dominion, Helix, and Numb3rs. This team did an amazing job with this film.
