12 Days of Movie Reviews: Die Hard

The day has come...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!  On Day 12 of the 12 Days of Movie Reviews we take a look at the greatest Christmas movie ever made...DIE HARD!!!

It had been years since I last watched this film, and I have to say, it was just as awesome as I remember.  Bruce Willis solidified himself as one of the greatest action stars of our time in one of the best Christmas movies ever made.

Die Hard follows NYC Police Detective John McClane, who attends a Christmas party at his estranged wife's work.  While there, a group of German terrorists take control of the building, holding everyone hostage.  McClane decides it's up to him to stop these men and save Christmas.

There is some fantastic dialogue from Bruce Willis in this film, and here he creates one of the most iconic lines in movie history...Yippee-ki-yay, MotherF@$&er!

What Makes It Christmasy?

The movie is set during a Christmas party on Christmas Eve.  And if the line Now I Have A Machine Gun...Ho Ho Ho doesn't scream Christmas, then I don't know what does.

Of all the Christmas movies out there, Die Hard is one of those that you might not instantly think of, and that's a shame, because it is an amazing movie and should be enjoyed every holiday season.

The Merc's Score: 9/10
