Trailer Review: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: VOL. 2

Ooga-chaka, ooga-ooga, ooga-chaka, ooga-ooga, ooga-chaka

I'M HOOKED ON A FEELIN!!

Woohoo! The Guardians are back! Early this morning we received a photo of the first poster for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, a sequel that possibly the entire world has been impatiently waiting for since the end of the first film. Shortly after the poster was revealed, we also received a short teaser trailer for the film, making this a beautiful day for Marvel fans.  Check out the poster and teaser trailer below:

With the trailer set to the famous Blue Swede's "Hooked On A Feeling", we get small snippets of large and epic shots. From some long, sweet and smooth dolly shots revealing some uncharted locations of the Guardians universe. To wide epic shots of Star Lord and Gamora preparing for some sort of what we can assume will be epic combat. And even an awesome follow shot of Yondu and Rocket Raccoon walking down what we assume is a catwalk, as bodies fall from all around them. There is almost no dialogue in the teaser, except for the end. The end of the trailer is quite comedic, which is also what fans are expecting considering that the first installment of the Guardians had a perfect balance of action and comedy. The conversation is between Drax and Star Lord discussing Star Lord's love interest for Gamora, which makes for quite the comedic stand off.

Fans should be especially satisfied because after we get the classic "Coming Soon" bold text, we receive one final snippet. Rocket Raccoon blowing a hole into a wall, and baby Groot emerging from behind Rocket giving an adorable little smile. This teaser is perfect, forcing all fans to turn their hype level up to eleven. I am very excited to see more trailers and photos as they come.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017!
