WEEKEND ROUNDUP: 'The Jungle Book' Stays On Top Yet Again, While Newcomers 'Keanu', 'Mother's Day', and 'Ratchet & Clank' Fail To Perform

Welcome to WEEKEND ROUNDUP, where we discuss this weekends box office results.  The TOP 3 films for the weekend of April 29 - May 1 were The Jungle Book, The Huntsman: Winter's War, and Keanu.

Let's take a look at this week's box office results:

The Jungle Book managed to top the charts again this weekend, while only one of the three new films this week hit the Top 3.  Keanu, Mother's Day, and Ratchet & Clank nabbed the #3, #4, and #7 spots this weekend, none of them breaking $10 million.

Jon Favreau's live-action adaptation of the 1967 animated Disney classic, The Jungle Book, managed to dominate the box office yet again in its third weekend, bringing in a very impressive $43.7 million, a drop of only 29% from last weekend.  That puts its domestic total at $253.4 million and its worldwide total at $688.2 million on a $175 million production budget.

The Snow White & The Huntsman prequel, The Huntsman: Winter's War, managed to hold on to the #2 spot again this weekend, bringing in another $9.6 million, a drop of 50.5% from its opening.  This brought its domestic total up to $34.2 million and its worldwide total to $132 million on a $115 million production budget.

The brand new comedy from Key & Peele, Keanu, hit theaters this weekend with a disappointing opening of only $9.5 million.  Hopefully with its production budget only being $15 million, it'll be able to break even or make a profit, but with the Marvel juggernaut, Captain America: Civil War hitting theaters this weekend, it'll have a tougher time keeping an audience.

#1 - The Jungle Book (2016) - $43,714,706

#2 - The Huntsman: Winter's War - $9,619,300

#3 - Keanu - $9,453,224

#4 - Mother's Day - $8,369,184

#5 - Barbershop: The Next Cut - $6,080,496

#6 - Zootopia - $5,328,858

#7 - Ratchet & Clank - $4,869,278

#8 - The Boss - $4,286,820

#9 - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - $3,869,416

#10 - Criminal (2016) - $1,346,196
