Box Office Breakdown: 10/30-11/1

Welcome to BOX OFFICE BREAKDOWN, where we discuss this weekends box office results.  The TOP 3 films for the weekend of October 30 - November 1 were GoosebumpsThe Martian and Bridge of Spies.

Let's take a look at this week's box office results:

WHAT STANDS OUT?

As you can see, none of the Top 3 this weekend are new releases yet again.  In fact, these are the same three films that have occupied the Top 3 for the last 3 weeks, with The Martian crushing it again.

Bradley Cooper's new film Burnt only managed to hit #6, while Our Brand Is Crisis took #8.  Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse couldn't even break the top 10, coming in at #12, due to the ongoing flexible release experiment by Paramount, causing only 1500 theaters to carry the film.  The same thing happened with Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension last weekend.

THE TOP 3:

1. THE MARTIAN

The Martian had another solid weekend, taking the #1 spot in its fifth week and bringing in $11.7 million.  This puts its domestic total up to $183.1 million and an impressive $428.9 million worldwide total on a production budget of $108 million.

2. GOOSEBUMPS

Jack Black's latest film, Goosebumps, which is based off of the popular children's book series from the 90's, took the second spot at the box office this weekend, dropping only 36.4% with another $9.9 million, for a domestic total of $56.8 million and a worldwide total of $75.4 million on a $58 million production budget.

3. BRIDGE OF SPIES

The new Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks Cold War thriller, Bridge of Spies, managed to hold onto the #3 spot for the third week with $8.4 million, dropping just 26.2% from last weekend.  That puts its domestic total at $45.5 million and its worldwide total at $57.9 million on just a $40 million production budget.
