Box Office Breakdown: 10/9-10/11

   


Welcome to BOX OFFICE BREAKDOWN, where we discuss this weekends box office results.  The TOP 3 films for the weekend of October 9-11 were The MartianHotel Transylvania 2, and Pan.

Let's take a look at how the Top 3 did this weekend...


1. THE MARTIAN




Ridley Scott's newest science fiction film, The Martian, hit theaters last week, taking the top spot at the box office.  It continued that trend this week, bringing in $37 million, a mere 31.9% drop from last week.  That brings its domestic total up to $108.7 million and its worldwide total up to $227.3 million.


2. HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2



Adam Sandler's newest animated film, Hotel Transylvania 2, entered its third weekend strong, bringing in $20.4 million domestically, dropping only 38.5% from last week.  That puts its domestic total at $116.9 million and its worldwide total up to $207.8 million.


3. PAN



The new Hugh Jackman film, Pan, hit theaters this week to disappointing numbers, bringing in just $15.3 million domestically and $40.5 million worldwide on a staggering $150 million production budget.
