Movie Review: A MONSTER CALLS (Review #3)

A Monster Calls is the third film by Spanish director J.A. Bayona. The film follows the story of a young boy dealing with his mother being very ill and being bullied at school as he is visited in his dreams by a monster set on teaching him some kind of life lesson. The film stars Lewis MacDougall, Felicity Jones, Sigourney Weaver, Toby Kebbell, and Liam Neeson as the Monster. I was floored by this movie as it was a wonderful combination of stunningly beautiful and emotionally resonant. One of the best films of the year.

Movie Review: A MONSTER CALLS (Review #2)

A Monster Calls follows a young boy named Conor (Lewis MacDougall), whose mother (Felicity Jones) is ill from cancer, and gravely so -- she is terminal. Having difficulty dealing with this horrible situation, Conor is visited by a tree monster (voiced by Liam Neeson) at 12:07. On one occasion the monster comes and tells him he is going to narrate him three stories and once he is done Conor will have to tell a fourth one and said story will have to be 'the truth'.

London Film Festival: A MONSTER CALLS

This week I have the pleasure of attending the London Film Festival, and the first film I had the pleasure of seeing, was J.A. Bayona's film, A Monster Calls! It is a beautiful, emotional film that resonated with me, maybe more than any film I have seen this year!

Trash Bin: A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST

Welcome to another installment of the TRASH BIN, where we watch the worst movies Hollywood has to offer, according to the critics.  This week's pick is the Seth MacFarlane western-comedy...A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST.

Now, let me start things off by saying that I actually enjoyed this film.  Yes, it has some pretty stupid parts, but that was more than made up for by the amount of fun and laughter this film gave me.  Seth MacFarlane, the brilliant mind behind Ted, Ted 2, and the hit animated series Family Guy, dove into the realm of the western-comedy, and despite what the critics, and much of the audience had to say, I liked it.
