Movie Review: FIFTY SHADES FREED

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, just in time for Fifty Shades Freed to come out.  The third film in the Fifty Shades franchise was more about forgiveness and redemption. Of course, it still had steamy scenes like its predecessors.  However, this last film focused more on Christian and Ana's relationship and the ups and downs they endured.

As I watched Fifty Shades Freed, I encountered a more mature Christian and a more confident Ana. I enjoyed watching both of these characters develop over the last three films. Their relationship grew and was more grounded in reality.

This film's definitely worth losing sleep over. I went to a special showing at a local theater and it was a blast. What do you get when you combine wine, women, and Christian Grey? A fantastic experience, and the theater did a great job accommodating the almost 500 Fifty Shades fans.  I got home about 9 p.m. and had to work in the morning. It was fantastic being able to watch a film I've been so excited to see in theaters.

The pivotal moment that proved to me that this would be a great film was one of the first scenes with Ana and Christian exchanging vows. They looked so happy and in love. It was wonderful to see Christian find love after all the horrible things that happened to him as a child. The couple was also surrounded by loving friends and family. I think the wedding scene made all the fans happy, including myself.

The onscreen chemistry of Johnson and Dornan was undeniable. They both just oozed with sex appeal. Their chemistry is one of the reasons these films have such a huge following.

If you've watched Fifty Shades Darker, then you'll remember Ana's obsessive boss, Jack Hyde. Well, he comes back looking for revenge against Christian and his family. What possibly could Hyde have against Christian and his family? You'll have to see the movie to find out.

The scariest part of the movie is when Ana is attacked by Jack in the penthouse. If it wasn't for the security Christian hired, who knows what would've happened. But, Ana is a strong woman and is capable of overcoming anything.

Fifty Shades Freed just opened and only has a 15% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.  That score has nothing to do with my opinion of the film. I read some of the reviews and disagreed with most of them. One reviewer said that Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan had no sexual chemistry. I wonder what movie that person saw because their chemistry was sizzling.

This is my favorite of the series and I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The casting was superb, especially Eric Johnson as the creepy Jack Hyde. I loved the montage of scenes shown at the end of the film. The scenes showed important events in Ana and Christian's relationship. Fifty Shades Freed is a great movie to see with your man or with your girlfriends.

Lisa's Score: 10/10
