Not a lot to go on there, if I'm honest. The world continues to pick up the pieces post-Civil War, and part of that mess was the death of the king of Wakanda. So his son, T'Challa (played by Chadwick Boseman, who has consistently been one of the best parts of any movie I've seen him in), has succeeded him as king. Other than that, there's bad guys doing bad stuff, T'Challa as the Panther being appropriately badass, and the knowledge that another installment in the MCU is imminent that will likely satisfy the faithful.
It seems to me that all we're really meant to take away from this teaser is that there's going to be a Marvel movie with a majority-Black cast, and that's too bad. The MCU has struck a couple of sour notes lately, but they're still generally a lot of fun, and I hope that's still the case here. I'm going to go see it because of Chadwick Boseman, who's hugely entertaining in any role he takes on. Say what you will about Get On Up, but I think we can all agree he crushed as James Brown. He was a bit stiff as T'Challa in Civil War, but he was also only in something like two scenes, so hopefully we'll see more life from the character when he plays the star.
That being said, I'm aware this is 2017, and I know how the conversation is probably going to go regarding this movie. So In honor of that, I leave you this as my final thought:
Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
