On the IMDB page
for Savage Dog, which has been in post-post production after being filmed in
2016, there is very little right now in the way of description of the movie. Basically, all it states is that Savage Dog is
a story set in Indochina in
1959, a land beyond rule and a time without mercy, and the birth of a legend. I’m
not sure if that means that the story, written and directed by Jesse V. Johnson,
is based on a true story or not. Hopefully more information will become
available as the movie draws closer to being released.
What has been released,
however, is the first action filled trailer (as seen above) for Savage Dog. The trailer could stand as an exciting action
movie all on its own as it is filled with everything action aficionados like
myself look for in these kinds of films. There are gun fights, explosions, chase
scenes and martial arts fights. Of course, there is the highly skilled and
talented star of the movie, Scott Adkins, with his athletic style and signature
martial arts moves that are like deadly poetry in motion. He plays a man named
Martin. The trailer is narrated by one of other stars of Savage Dog, Keith David, who has the right kind of voice to infuse the narration, which overlays the
action, with dramatic timber that draws you in.
The trailer is also heavily infused with scenes that show us that the character
of Martin goes through several rough experiences that no doubt lead to him
reaching a retaliation point and taking action against those who sought to break
him.
When a movie stars
Scott Adkins, they are rarely dull or slow moving and, judging by the trailer
for this one, Savage Dog is going to be another of his nonstop action thrillers.
Check out the trailer and judge for yourself.
