Red carpet photos from the New Orleans Premiere of GLEASON at the Orpheum Theater!
Directed by
Clay Tweel and executive produced by Mark Shapiro and Will Staeger, “Gleason”
is the hit documentary from the 2016 Sundance Film Festival that explores the
life of Steve Gleason, the former New Orleans Saints defensive back who, at the
age of 34, was diagnosed with ALS and given a life expectancy of two to five
years.
In
the ensuing weeks after the diagnosis, Gleason found out his wife, Michel, was
expecting their first child. At that point, Steve began making a video journal which
started out as a gift for his unborn son.
Somewhere along the line, the journal expanded its purpose as it
chronicled Steve’s determination to get his relationships in order, build a
foundation to provide other ALS patients with purpose, and adapt to his
declining physical condition—utilizing medical technologies that offer the
means to live as fully as possible.
The
documentary features Steve Gleason, Michel Varisco, Scott Fujita, Drew Brees
and Mike McCready and is also produced by Seth Gordon, Kimi Culp, Scott Fujita, Tom Lavia, Kevin Lake, Mary Rohlich and Thomas McEachin.
