Welcome to WEEKEND ROUNDUP, where we discuss this weekends box office results. The TOP 3 films for the weekend of February 5-7 were Kung Fu Panda 3, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Hail, Caesar!.

WHAT STANDS OUT?
It was nice to see Star Wars hold on to the #3 spot this week, and by doing so it managed to break $2 billion worldwide, which is extremely impressive. Another thing that stands out are the low openings for this week's newcomers, Hail, Ceasar!, The Choice, and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, taking the #2, #5, and #6 spots, respectively.
THE TOP 3:
1. KUNG FU PANDA 3
Kung Fu Panda 3 dominated the box office yet again this weekend, taking the top spot with $21.2 million. This puts its domestic total up to $69.3 million and its worldwide total up to $199 million on a production budget of $145 million.
2. HAIL, CAESAR!
The brand new Coen Brothers film, Hail, Caesar!, starring George Clooney, open soft this weekend, bring in only $11.4 million and taking the #2 spot. This marks the lowest opening ever for a Coen Brothers film opening in over 1,500 theaters.
3. STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS
In its eighth week in theaters, Star Wars: The Force Awakens managed to hold on to the #3 spot, bringing in $6.97 million. This brings its domestic total up to $906 million and its worldwide total up to a very impressive $2.008 billion, making it the third film ever to cross the $2 billion mark.
