Top 10 Most Anticipated Films Of 2016

Now that the year is coming to an end, the anticipation for next year's films is at it's peak.  With so many great films to choose from, it was difficult to narrow down the ten I'm looking most forward to in the coming new year, but here they are:

10. Now You See Me: The Second Act

One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public's adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, The Four Horsemen resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Mabry, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.

9. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising

Mac and Kelly Radner reunite with Teddy and Pete to help battle a group of sorority sisters who move in to their neighboring house.

8. Assassin's Creed

After Callum Lynch discovers that his ancestor, Aguilar from 15th Century Spain was an Assassin, Callum relives Aguilar's memories to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to confront the Templars—age-old enemies of the Assassins—in the present day.

Assassin's Creed hits theaters on December 21, 2016

7. Captain America: Civil War

After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, another international incident involving Steve Rogers and the Avengers results in collateral damage, prompting politicians to form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call in the Avengers, which results in the fracturing of the team into two opposing factions – one led by Rogers who wishes to operate without regulation, and one led by Tony Stark who supports government oversight - while they attempt to protect the world from a new enemy.

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016

6. X-Men: Apocalypse

Since ancient times the first and most powerful mutant, Apocalypse, has been worshiped as a god. When he awakens after several millennia, Apocalypse is disillusioned with the modern world and recruits a team of mutants to "cleanse" humanity and create a new world order, forcing Raven and Charles to lead a team of young X-Men to save humanity.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016

5. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters comes together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor's rule.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016

4. Triple 9

The film follows a group of criminals and corrupt cops who find themselves in serious trouble. The Russian mafia is blackmailing them, and the only way to deal with them is to perform what is believed to be an extremely challenging heist. Impossible as it may seem, however, they eventually hatch a plan: on one side of town, half of the crew will plan the murder of a rookie cop named Chris Allen (Casey Affleck), and while the rest of the force is distracted by a 999 call ("officer down"), the other half of the corrupt cops will pull off the job.

Triple 9 hits theaters on Februray 26, 2016

3. Suicide Squad

It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016

2. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Fearing the actions of Superman left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante Batman takes on Metropolis' most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.  And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat, Doomsday, quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016

And my most anticipated film of 2016 is...

1. Deadpool

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
